Things to know

The Olympiaregion Seefeld in Tyrol belongs to the district of Innsbruck Land and is one of the most popular holiday regions in the whole of Austria. It is made up of the five villages of Mösern, Reith, Scharnitz, Leutasch and Seefeld. It has twice hosted the Winter Olympics in the disciplines of cross-country skiing and Nordic combined. In 2012, the Winter Youth Olympic Games were held in Innsbruck and Seefeld for the first time. The region is surrounded by the Karwendel, Wetterstein and Mieminger mountains, all of which offer excellent leisure and sports opportunities.

The Seefeld Olympic Region is considered one of the most snow-sure places in Tyrol:
The information is based on Blogtirol.at that the Olympiaregion Seefeld, i.e. in particular the village of Leutasch, ranks among the 3rd most snowy places in Tyrol.
An average of 515 centimetres of new snow fell in Leutasch every winter between 1983/1984 and 2012/2013, and the average maximum snow depth is 107 centimetres. Further details at www.Seefeld.com

Golf

The 18 holes of the Seefeld-Wildmoos Golf Club, which is one of the “Leading Golf Courses Austria”, is planned in such a way that it fits ideally into the hilly alpine landscape with meadows, larch and birch forests. Surrounded by majestic firs and spruces, it is rightly ranked by experts among the top 100 golf courses in the world.

The Seefeld-Wildmoos golf course was built in 1969/70 as the second 18-hole course in Austria and gained cult status among alpine golf courses due to its exceptionally scenic location and a sporty and memorable layout. “A golf course you must have played” is the opinion of golfing globetrotters, top golfers and golf connoisseurs. This golf course has character. Every fairway is different, unmistakable, memorable! The sporty, demanding 18 holes are so cleverly laid out in the hilly terrain that overcoming the differences in altitude does not pose any major problems.
E-trolleys and single-seater e-carts are available for players who want to take it a little easier. Golfers with a higher handicap underplay their handicap relatively often. Players with a handicap of up to -9 are sportingly challenged from the back tees. The 9-hole golf academy offers a perfect practice area in all degrees of difficulty, trained golf pros accompany you here in your first steps on well-kept greens. The golf clubs in Mieming (27 holes), Rinn (18 holes), Garmisch (18 holes)

Sunny, perfectly groomed slopes up to 2,064 m above sea level and state-of-the-art lifts promise pure enjoyment for everyone, from ski dwarves to professional skiers. In the Olympiaregion Seefeld there is a small, very fine alpine skiing offer. 48 kilometres of pistes and around 30 cable cars (check the current figures here) and lifts are available.
The Olympiaregion Seefeld is regularly awarded top prizes for its cross-country skiing facilities, and rightly so. In 2010, the region was once again voted one of the top 3 cross-country skiing areas in the world with 2nd place! Sport and fun in optimal conditions – that’s how you imagine the perfect cross-country skiing day. Where could this be better than in a region that can score points with perfectly groomed cross-country trails, a wide variety of offers for every skiing style, as well as guaranteed snow until the end of April? The Olympic region of Seefeld cannot be stopped in its sprint to the world’s top Nordic centres.
